Description
““Enter through the narrow gate; for the gate is wide and the way is broad that leads to destruction, and there are many who enter through it. For the gate is small and the way is narrow that leads to life, and there are few who find it” (Matthew 7:13-14).
Our culture entices men to find their value and purpose through wealth, career, power, pleasure, or entertainment. Immense effort and resources are spent while traveling these broad roads to success, but they all result in eventual emptiness and meaninglessness – and ultimately lead to destruction. But Jesus declared, “I am the way, and the truth, and the life; no one comes to the Father but through Me.”
This book is written to serve as a roadmap for men to walk the narrow way that leads to life. The map directs men on a journey through scripture, discovering how God designed them to engage in relationship with Him, other Christians, and the world in a purpose-driven way. When men begin to live in the way they were designed by God, they find the deep longings of their hearts fulfilled, and their relationships with others blossom when their relationship with God is right. The roadmap can be followed by an individual man with great success, but because of God’s design, the map has a powerful impact when two or more men walk on this journey together. Two Christian friends walking together, or a mentor encouraging a younger man by walking side by side on their faith journey will find studying Christ Alone – The Narrow Way to be a meaningful and life-shaping experience.
Start your journey by meeting with Ethan and Jonathon. Ethan is searching for purpose and significance in his life, and Jonathon offers to walk with him through life on the narrow way. Then journey through the Bible with them as they discover and learn:
- How God designed man in His own image and entrusted him with the stewardship of His creation
- The posture of humility as man’s natural created state toward God, his creator
- The impact of sin on man’s relationship with God, and how Self became the ruler of man’s heart through pride
- The redemption made possible only through Jesus Christ
- How one must receive the kingdom of God like a child, in humility
- How true significance is only found in being fully reconciled and restored to a relationship with God
- Jesus calls men to deny their “Self”, take up their cross daily, and follow Him
- Joy and friendship is found when walking with God and others daily on the narrow path to life
- The enemies of your soul, and how to destroy spiritual strongholds while taking enemies captive
- How your life is transformed through God’s word and spiritual warfare
- Man was designed by God to be His stewards, and He has entrusted us with five areas of stewardship in this life.
The roadmap will take you through these areas and teach you the responsibilities and disciplines for each one. Follow the map together as you learn about:
- Personal stewardship
- Household stewardship
- “One Another” stewardship
- Vocational stewardship
- Community stewardship

This book clearly and simply describes how a person can walk humbly with Christ. It gives you a clear understanding of the Sin of Self and how this keeps us on the broad path of destruction leading us to death. If you are looking for a practical book on living a life for Christ this is it! This book is basically hours of Christian counseling. The good work God has for us to do is learning to be humble and letting Christ rule on the throne of our hearts! This book helps reveal pride in our heart at a deeper level. Reading this book and taking a deeper DIVE into God’s WORD will bring healing into your heart. This would be an excellent book to read with another man. Churches should have this book available as a resource. As a wife I read it truly inspired in a new way to be the helper God created me to be to my husband. It is a book intended for a man to read but as a woman I got MUCH out of it. The sin of PRIDE and self-righteousness is a problem for both genders!
